With summer right around the corner, it is important to be eating healthy so that you are comfortable and confident wearing a bikini. Believe it or not, snacking is very healthy for you, as long as you snack on healthy food, because it keeps you from being really hungry at meal times. The important thing is to keep your snack between 100 and 200 calories, or even less if possible. I’ve put together some healthy snacks that will not only help you get in shape for summer, but also satisfy your growling tummy!
Strawberry Banana Smoothie
My number one favorite snack of all time is a Strawberry Banana Smoothie. I have been making this smoothie for the past few years and it is so good, but also healthy!
First, put 1 cup of yogurt, 3/4 cup of plain yogurt, and one whole banana into your blender. Blend that so that it is not all the way blended but mixed well together. It also helps if you break the banana into pieces. Then, add in 2 cups of frozen strawberries and half a cup of frozen mango. Blend it all together so that it is smooth and creamy. If you want it to be thicker, add in your preffered amount of ice cubes (I usually use about 8-10 cubes). Then serve and enjoy!
Smoothie Pops
To put a fun summer twist on a strawberry smoothie, make them into popsicles! All you need to do is just pour the blended smoothie into a popsicle mold, put in a popsicle stick, and freeze.
Turkey Rollups
This yummy snack satisfies your salty cravings easily, and only takes a few minutes to make! Start by getting out 4 slices of deli turkey breast, 8 teaspoons of honey mustard, freshly ground pepper (to add a kick), and 8 sesame breadsticks. Spread each slice of turkey with 2 teaspoons mustard (or mango chutney) and season with pepper. Wrap each prepared turkey slice around 2 breadsticks. It’s that simple!
Greek Yogurt
Yogurt is always a great snack to have. But instead of having a cup of Yoplait yogurt that has tons of chemicals and sugar in it, switch to having Greek Yogurt instead. It is so much better for you and has tons more protein and calcium along with other nutritional vitamins. If you want to add more flavor, cut up some strawberries and add them in!
Strawberry and Cream Cheese Sandwich
This snack is very easy to make. Cut a piece of wheat bread in half, spread some honey on one half, and cream cheese on the other. Slice two medium sized strawberries and lay them on the bread. Add the two halves together and you got a yummy sandwich!
Nuts an apples are always a good snack too! Hope you enjoyed these snack recipies!
