As some of you may know, Kate Hudson was the face of Ann Taylor for a while in 2012, and it was just announced that she re-signed with them for another season! This time, instead of just being the face of the brand, she is now designing as a guest designer for a capsule collection for summer. She is working with Lisa Axelson, the creative director at Ann Taylor. The line is going to be inspired by her red carpet style, but reworked for everyday wear.

Kate Hudson told WWD, “Working with Ann Taylor has been a great creative experience, and there is a really wonderful connection. Ann Taylor is great at creating iconic wardrobe staples and updating them season after season. I love that Lisa Axelson is designing clothes for real women.” Amen to that!
The capsule collection that Hudson is co-designing will be in stores in May. Can’t wait!
The actress will also join the advisory council for Ann Inc.’s ANNpower Vital Voices Initiative, which is a partnership between Ann Inc., the parent company of Ann Taylor, and the Vital Voices Global Partnership. It is aimed at empowering young women to serve as global leaders. Hudson will be helping select grant proposals and serve as a mentor to the high school-aged members of the initiative.
The spring campaign will start in early February, and the items featured in the advertising will be available in 280 Ann Taylor stores and online next month.

From the looks of it, it’s going to be a really cute collection! I can’t wait to see what the line looks like! I’ll be sure to post my favorite pieces once it’s up!
