Throughout the past few months, my life has gotten crazy busy, and I basically have three part-time jobs right now (blogging, marketing at Taim Boutique, and interning at Mariners Church), and I have had to make my morning cup of coffee a very important part of my day. There are very few days (MAYBE once a week) when I get to sleep in and just relax at home for the day. I’m making it my new year’s resolution to do this more often and take “me time” to just relax and spend some quality time with God.
My busy life has gotten me to become somewhat of a coffee addict, and I have at least a cup or two a day. Lately I’ve been starting my days with a cup of the new McCafé medium roast coffee, which is so delicious, and the medium roast is the perfect strength for me. If I don’t have a cup in the morning even when I’m just staying at home, my day just seems to drag on and I end up getting pretty cranky (not gonna lie!). I also can’t help but be at least somewhat productive even on my days off, so having some coffee will help me get some stuff done around the house, whether it’s blogging, cleaning, laundry, etc.
Last week I attended the in store demo for the new McCafé coffee at my nearest Walmart, where they were giving out samples of all the different flavors.
Although I like my coffee fairly strong, I always add a decent amount of creamer, and have been loving a seasonal flavor like peppermint or cinnamon!
As I mentioned above, one of my new year’s resolutions is to take more “me time,” and included in that is spending more quiet time with God. To be completely honest, I’m not very good at taking time every day to read the Bible and/or have quiet time with God. Mariners Church just came out with the new daily devotional, Streams in the Desert, that the whole church will be going through for 2015. I’m really praying that I’ll be able to remember and WANT to keep up with this every day. Whenever I even just read my Jesus Calling in the morning, it puts me in such a great mood and almost always relates to something I’m currently going through. If you’d like to go through it with me and the rest of Mariners Church, email me ([email protected]) and I can get you a copy for $15!
