My mom has been collecting tea cups & tea pots almost her whole life, both new and old. All throughout my childhood, she would throw tea parties for me with my friends, stuffed animals & dolls, or both. She gave me my first tea set on my 2nd bithday. It had “magic tea cups” that changed color when you put the liquid in! This made me absolutely love tea parties. Over the years we have visited several different tea houses for birthdays, special events and for just a girls’ day out.
Because this has been a very special bond between us throughout the years, I thought it would be fun to create “The Best Mother’s Day Ever” by hosting a tea party for my mom and invite a couple friends! I picked up some tea party necessities and decorations from Walmart and their American Greetings One-Stop Shop for Mother’s Day. We used my mom’s antique mismatched tea set and created a rustic & feminine tablescape. Keep reading to see more pictures and a little gift that I picked up for my mom from the One-Stop Shop!

I found cute little mini succulents in Walmart’s garden center that were only $3 each! They came in this pink pot, and I bought hemp & lace ribbon to make it even prettier.
I can’t even tell you guys how much I love my mom. I’m definitely not that great at showing her I love her, but I do! She has worked so incredibly hard over the past 22 years to give me a good life. If it wasn’t for her faith and dedication to God, I don’t know where I’d be.
This is Korrie, the wife of my college pastor from Mariners Church. She’s a mom to two little boys (one is 2 1/2 and one who is almost 9 months) and is still SO fabulous! I’ve had the chance to hang out with her and see her be a mom to them, and it makes me so happy. She is so loving and patient with them, even in the midst of a “terrible two” tantrum! I can’t wait to continue to see her grow as a mom and as a woman of God.
I also invited my best friend Chelsea, who’s mom has kind of become like a second mom to me. Unfortunately she wasn’t able to make it to the tea party, but she was there in spirit!
American Greetings One-Stop Shop at Walmart
From the American Greetings One-Stop Shop, I found the absolute PERFECT card for my mom. With the two tea cups, it totally matched not only the tea party that I planned, but what we’ve shared throughout my life as well. Every mom LOVES chocolate. My mom’s favorite is the Lindor salted caramel with dark chocolate, so I bought two bags of those for her, and one may have already disappeared… I also picked up bodycology Pure White Gardenia mist & body cream, which was actually my parents’ wedding flower, so it always reminds me of my mom.
The American Greetings One-Stop-Shop was located in the greeting card section (of course) in my local Walmart, which was right next to the beauty section.
