Green Dragon Clothing Dress c/o, Divinity LA Bracelets c/o (here, here, & here), DIY Flower Crown
I’m sitting here writing this post, but have no idea what to write… I could write about how this turquoise dress is so cute and perfect for summer nights, but what does that really matter? So I guess I’ll just talk about what’s been on my mind lately…
For basically my whole life, I’ve been a HUGE people pleaser. I hate conflict, so I’m always wanting to make sure everyone is happy and satisfied with no reason to be mad at me. This is good in some ways because it means that I’m thinking about others, but you also need to think about yourself once in a while. For example, if you’re overbooking your schedule working, volunteering, helping people with favors, going to social gatherings to impress people/not miss out on anything, going to coffee dates with people, etc., you’re not giving yourself time to receive or rest. I had to learn this earlier this year when I realized after so much giving, I was no longer receiving or taking care of my own soul or mind. Since then, I’ve been able to focus on my passions, dive deeper into a community of Godly women that are so supportive of me, and most importantly have time to REST (barely, however).
Sometimes you just realize that you can’t always be a YES woman, and need to say no sometimes, even if it means disappointing someone.
Are you a people pleaser too? I challenge you this week to say NO to something you think isn’t necessary or beneficial for you own well-being.
