Casual Holiday Outfit + What Christmas Means to Me

Outfit Details:

Ralph Lauren Shirt, Vest, Michael Kors Pants, Lauren by Ralph Lauren Boots, & Happy Camper Canvas Tote c/o Marshalls

Happy December! Can you believe this year is almost over?! It’s seriously just FLOWN by. Before I share about this casual holiday outfit, I want to talk about something a little more meaningful…

With the holidays here, it’s a time full of pretty trees, parties, holiday dresses, and sparkling lights. It’s so easy to get caught up in the “Hallmark” side of Christmas and forget what the holiday is really celebrating. This weekend I was reminded to take time to slow down in the midst of all the chaos and take time to remember that Christmas is really about God fulfilling His promise to His people, not presents and getting dressed up. Because He kept His promise and came down to Earth in the form of a baby, we have been set free from the feelings of hurt, fear, shame, and guilt, and instead get to live in hope, joy, and love! I don’t know about you, but that is worth celebrating SO much more than presents and the glitz and glam of the holidays.

Over the past couple months, I have gotten to actually experience what it means to live in the hope and freedom that God gives us, and it’s the greatest gift EVER.

If you’re a believer like me, I want to encourage you to stop and remember God’s promises, and more importantly how them being fulfilled has impacted your life this year. Even if things haven’t gone as planned, remember to live in the HOPE that we have in Christ.

If you have absolutely no idea what I’m talking about, feel free to reach out in the comments or by emailing me (katie@allglammedupstyle.com).

I would also like to encourage all of you to listen to this message from Wes (Sunday Night pastor at Mariners Church) and/or this message from Kenton (senior pastor of Mariners Church)

This first outfit is probably my favorite. My personal style has become a lot more casual and comfortable over the last year or so–probably because I’m always on the go! I’m wearing a red and black gingham flannel shirt which is a closet MUST have for any woman… Or man! It’s the perfect casual holiday outfit. I threw on one of my favorite vests since it was kind of chilly that day and completed the outfit with my new favorite black jeggings and some super chic designer boots. Don’t you just love the tassels?! The vest was a score from Marshalls last year and has become a wardrobe staple.
