This past weekend (Friday & Saturday), I went on an overnight camping trip with some girls from Mariners College Group in Lake Arrowhead, CA. It was the first trip that I planned for a group of people, and let me tell you… It was a learning experience! I’ve been asked a few times by different people if I’m a planner or go with the flow when on a trip, and I’m actually a little bit of both! I definitely plan out where I want to go and what I want to do, but I don’t make any set plans because over time, I’ve realized that my plans never really go the way I expect them to, so I end up just going with the flow and being spontaneous! It’s always more of an adventure when that happens!
What I love so much about California is that just by driving an hour or two, the scenery & terrain can completely change. You can watch the sunrise in the mountains, spend the day in the desert, and make your way to the beach for sunset. California will always have my heart!
We stayed at the Dogwood Campgrounds which is about 10 minutes from Lake Arrowhead Village.
We just had a little bit of a hard time with the cooking… Not to be stereotypical, but being girls, we didn’t really know how to work propane stoves, so it took us a while to get the hang of it. (Because of the drought, there were no campfires allowed, so a propane stove was our only choice for cooking!) We made spaghetti for dinner, boiled water in the morning for coffee & hot chocolate, and then pancakes for breakfast which was almost an epic fail because we ran out of propane on the last two pancakes! So if you ever camp with a propane stove, make sure it’s full! haha
I was hoping to get some cool star photos, but this was a couple nights before the Super Harvest Blood Moon, so it was basically full and lit up the whole campsite, so we really didn’t even need a fire!

Ame & Lulu Floppy Cosmetic Bag in Ranger
This was the perfect cosmetic bag to bring with me while camping! I love being prepared, so I always pack more than I need (I got it from my mama), and this was the PERFECT size.
Camping Beauty essentials: Murad Essential-C Day Moisture, Murad Essential-C Night Moisture, Jouer Matte Moisture Tint, Maybelline Rocket Volum Mascara
We hiked The Pinnacles in Hesperia, CA, which is about 20 minutes outside of Lake Arrowhead.
Thanks for reading! Have you ever been camping? What’s your favorite spot?
