Merry Christmas, everyone! I hope you all are having a relaxing day with family and are remembering why we even even have Christmas.
Last night at the Mariners Church Christmas Eve service, the pastor mentioned this verse that precedes the well-known verse that prophecies Christ’s birth: “For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.” (Isaiah 9:6). I can’t even tell you how many times I’ve heard verse 6, but I actually don’t think I had ever heard/payed attention to verse 2. This verse is the epitome of what Christmas is, and what’s so amazing is that it was written hundreds of years before Jesus was even born. A little baby came into the earth, giving light & hope in a dark world for all of mankind and the rest of eternity!
May you have a very merry Christmas and God bless!
