Hi guys! As I’ve mentioned already, I’m extra into home improvement/decor right now since we’re all stuck at home (here’s my current home decor wishlist), and am feeling the need to do some sort of project! My boyfriend and I have also been looking at houses online the past couple weeks (mostly just for fun, but also looking for what we could afford in the future) and have been watching a lot of Fixer Upper, so you could say I’m in the DIY mood, haha! So, I joined the One Room Challenge Spring 2020 challenge!
I had heard of the One Room Challenge (ORC) before, but never really looked into it at all. I’m not sure what made me look it up this week, but I decided to register for it because I’m wanting to redo my bathroom! The ORC is a biannual event where “twenty design influencers are selected to take the challenge, as Featured Designers, and transform a space. Every Wednesday for 8 weeks, the designers document their process while sharing their sources and professional advice over six weekly posts.” Other bloggers and influencers can also participate and link their posts on the ORC website! It’s not a competition at all, just an opportunity to create community! Technically it’s already week 3 but I joined late, so this is my week 1!
So like I said, I will be redoing my bathroom, which is also our guest bathroom! I live with my parents in a rental house, so there’s not a whole lot I can do, and I can’t afford to spend a bunch of money anyways. But I’ve found some ways to spruce it up without demolishing any walls/floors/counters ?and I can’t wait to take you along in this process!
Today I’m just going to share my inspiration along with the before photos. I’ve been spending A LOT of time on Pinterest lately, and found a couple bathrooms that I LOVE and I also feel like I could realistically achieve the look. I love the beachy/boho look and will obviously be including some pink in there! I also want to try including lots of plants, which I had never really thought of doing, especially since the room doesn’t have any natural light. But I’m going to look up what plants need minimal light and can withstand the humidity! I’m also OBSESSED with the black and white tiles, so that’s for sure happening.
Below is my mood board/collage along with a couple inspiration photos!

I love the “spa” feeling in the photo above. Self care is something I’m really bad at and need to do more of, so I’m planning on creating a nice space with plants and candles that will make me want to relax and take a bath!
Okay now for the before photos… Right now it’s kinda just eh. Nothing horrible, but nothing special. I had made it all cute with some decor and stuff about a year and a half ago but then idk what happened ?I LOVE that bath mat too but since it’s white it’s gotten all dingy and dirty. So lesson learned–don’t buy any more white rugs haha!
I also have A LOT of skincare/haircare products. Like a lot. My medicine cabinet is already full and I had a bunch of stuff on the counter, but made space and put them on that cute little gold shelf that I bought off of OfferUp!
That under the sink situation is also giving me anxiety… for sure gonna have to do something about that.
I can’t wait to share more with you guys!!! Come back next week to see what I’m starting with 🙂
