Earlier this week, I wore my new favorite Birkenstock sandals from Famous Footwear on a little day trip to Torrey Pines in San Diego! They’re now my go-to for the season and are helping me confidently #StepForward into Summer. I’m constantly on the go and love having spontaneous adventures, so these comfy and sturdy sandals are perfect for just that.
I’ve always wanted a pair of Birkenstocks, but never liked how chunky the normal ones looked on my feet. This new style has thinner straps, which I think looks a bit more feminine! I also love these sandals and these sneakers for Summer.
I recently had a job interview in San Diego to work for a lifestyle PR company, which I was so excited about. However, during the interview I knew that it was not the job for me. It would have been very administrative, demanding, and frequently working evenings and weekends. Despite the fact that the interview didn’t go that well and the job wasn’t for me, I’m thankful I went because it made me realize even more how much I crave to be creative!
On the drive home to Orange County, I decided to drive through some of the beach cities in SD. I started by going through La Jolla and pulled off at a cliff in Torrey Pines overlooking the ocean. I sat there praying and thinking, and poured my heart out to God, begging Him to provide me with an opportunity where I can use my passions and the gifts He’s given me.
As I sat there, breathing in the fresh ocean air, my love for nature and being in God’s creation was at an all time high. I started thinking about what it would be like to be a full time travel photographer, and always get to be surrounded by beautiful places such as where I was. Part of me immediately thought, “There’s no way that will ever happen. It’s too crazy and unrealistic.” But the other part of me really wants to believe that God put these dreams and passion in my heart for a reason, and I know that ANYTHING is possible with God.
So for now, I’m just going to keep doing what I love and see what God has in store 🙂
