I was just asked by someone last night, “What would you call your style?” My answer was kind of long and complicated, but I told him how I used to love pink and gold and glitter and polka dots and all this girly stuff, but not so much anymore. Over the past year, I’ve moved away from that girly glam style and have adopted a more natural & somewhat boho look, not just in the clothes I wear, but with how I decorate my home (bedroom) as well. I believe this has to do with my newfound love for travel and exploring the outdoors.
When UncommonGoods got in touch with me and asked me to feature some of their goodies on here, I was so excited! I literally spent hours sifting through all of their home decor, kitchen & bar supplies, art, jewelry, and much more. What’s so cool about UncommonGoods is that all of their unique items are made by individual artisans and designers around the world. With the help of their customers, they have created “a community of passionate people who love our products and connect with the stories behind them” and “a strong following of customers who celebrate artists and delight in surrounding themselves with creative design” (uncommongoods.com)
National Parks Sticker Map, Shibori Table Runner
With boho style comes tie-dye and fringe, which is why I am love with this table runner that I am using on my dresser. It adds some color to what was before a very white and bland dresser top that had scuffs and marks on it. I love the details on it as well–the tassels on the ends and the turquoise stitching throughout.
My friend and I decided that we’re going to visit all of the National Parks that are located in California this year, but hopefully that will expand to other states as well! I’m excited to start marking off all of the parks I’ve visited and have already placed three stickers on this National Parks map–Joshua Tree, Sequoia National Forest, and the Grand Canyon! Next on my list is definitely Yosemite.
When traveling, it’s great to plan ahead, even if those plans don’t necessarily follow through. I’ve been on a couple trips where my friends and I didn’t know exactly where we were going or what we were doing, and more than enough time was wasted looking up and researching places. That’s why I’m excited to start using this Travelogue journal!
Inside is a planning journal where you can write down modes of transportation, destinations, checklists, and more, as well as these gorgeous scratch-off-where-you’ve-been maps. Once you’ve visited a city or country, you scratch off that location and it will reveal “adventurous pops of color.” I also love these large scratch off world maps (here and here) where you can do the same thing, but it will reveal facts about different landmarks as well.
Maybe you’re the adventurous traveler and buy this for yourself, or you have a friend or family member that is the jetsetter in your life and buy this as a personalized gift for them.
Speaking of gifts, UncommonGoods also has a ton of great gifts that would be perfect for Valentine’s Day such as jewelry, these musical wine glasses, or even this personalized art.
